Boat Diving

We run boat dives every day from Mid April through to late september. All Vessels owned or chartered by Beara Diving are fully liscenced by the Irish Department of Marine. The vessels are also fully insured and carry all the required safety equipment, including Oxygen.

In addition to the safety equipment, we carry on board a divers spare's kit, a spare dive cylinder and regulator and have a 2 level decompression station for technical divers. The boats cruise at approx 20-25 knots and most of the dive sites are between 10 and 25mins journey time.

Some Helpful Information for Boat Diving

On each boat dive you are given a pre dive briefing on the dive site including max. depth, currents, bottom topography, expected visibility etc. If you would like to book a divemaster to lead the dive or to buddy with you then please let us know when booking.

Please turn up at least 30mins before the boat is due to leave the harbour to give yourself enough time to kit up and load the boat. We do not delay boat departure times. Don't worry if you don't have a dive buddy with you there are always other divers who you can buddy up with.

All divers must have an alternate air source of some type, as per good diving practice. Any diver without this item of equipment will be refused entry onto the boat.

Day Dive Trips, Conger eel trips & Seal Snorkeling Trips

Beara Diving also arranges Day Trips consisting of a two dive trip with lunch on board or on a remote island or beach between dives. These trips normaly travel further offshore to dive sites such as the bull rock, inishfarnard island, cods head etc. cost for a day trip is € 85 and this includes a tank for the second dive as most divers have just one dive tank.

Also we regularly arrange snorkeling trips to a seal colony. This is a great trip for non-divers. Full snorkeling gear can be arranged for those with no wet suits etc.

Why not go on a boat dive to visit Dirk, the tame conger eel, he is six  feet long and loves divers.
